Data the app accesses

Minimal Launcher reads the names and package identifiers of apps that Android makes available for launcher use. It uses this local app inventory to show your app drawer, search apps, set favorites, hide apps, and open the app you choose.

The current app inventory is held in memory while the launcher is running. Package identifiers are saved locally only when needed for features you choose, such as favorites, hidden apps, custom labels, and app-based gesture choices.

When you enable the system-wallpaper option, Android displays your device's current system wallpaper behind the launcher interface. Minimal Launcher does not set nor upload your wallpaper.

When you enable Show upcoming event and grant Calendar permission, Minimal Launcher reads nearby calendar event details, such as title, time, and status, to choose and show the next relevant event beneath the Home date. Event details are held in memory while needed; they are not saved by Minimal Launcher or uploaded.

Access explained

Minimal Launcher requests Calendar permission only if you enable Show upcoming event. This permission is optional; denying or revoking it disables the feature. The app also uses Android's launcher-app visibility query to discover apps that can be launched from the app drawer. This access is used only for launcher functionality described above.

Local storage and use

Minimal Launcher stores its settings in Android app-private storage on your device. This can include favorites, hidden apps, custom app labels, appearance and clock preferences, gesture choices, settings-panel state, and whether the upcoming-event feature is enabled. Calendar event details are not stored. The app uses these settings only to provide and remember the launcher experience you choose.

Minimal Launcher has no INTERNET permission and does not transmit your app inventory, calendar event details, settings, wallpaper, or other user data from the app to any of our servers or to third-party services. It does not include account creation, advertising, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, or cross-app tracking.

We do not collect, sell, or directly share data from the app with third parties. Android system backup is described separately below.

Retention and deletion

Launcher settings remain in the app's local storage until you change them, clear the app's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app. Minimal Launcher does not operate a server-side account or database for this app data.

Depending on your Android backup settings, Android may back up launcher settings to the backup service configured on your device. We do not operate, access, or receive those backup copies. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the local copy on your device; any backup copy is managed through your Android backup settings and backup provider.

Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request or meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete support correspondence by emailing the same address.
